We reported a few days ago that according to HITS Daily Double's closing numbers, Paramore had scored the top spot on Billboard with their new album, Brand New Eyes. However, once the final tallies came in the legendary Barbra Streisand was the one who claimed the top spot. Streisand edged past Paramore with 180,000 copies solidifying her spot as the female with the most #1 albums (9 total) in Billboard chart history. She is also the only artist to have a #1 album in five consecutive decades.

Brand New Eyes gives Paramore their best sales week and highest charting position ever. Mariah Carey rounded out the top 3 with 168,000 copies of her new studio album, Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel. Jay Sean, on the other hand, ends the Black Eyed Peas' record chart run with his debut single, "Down," featuring Lil Wayne.
