Amazon Leaks Lil Wayne's "Rebirth" Album

Posted by Media Mogul On 7:10 AM 0 comments

Almost two months before it's scheduled release Lil Wayne's much delayed rock album, Rebirth, has been leaked. After numerous push backs the album was moved from its December 21st release date to February 1st. However, 500 fans who pre-ordered the album got an early Christmas present when Amazon mistakenly shipped the album. According to Billboard over 300,000 copies of the album were shipped to accounts when the most recent delay was announced. UniversalMotown was hoping to give the album a proper set-up allowing the 2nd single, "On Fire," to build at radio and digital outlets. With the latest turn of events, Lil Wayne may change the final tracklisting of the album. However, the question is what will his record label do with the 1 million units that were already manufactured.

In the meantime, check out some of the songs from the album after the jump, including the rapper's highly anticipated duet with Eminem.

Birdman teams up with Drake, and Lil Wayne for “4 My Town (Play Ball)” from Baby’s Pricele$$ album, in stores now. Nicki Minaj, Shanell, and Tyga also make cameos in this Gil Green directed video.

The video was directed by Sophie Muller. We're really not feeling the excessive use of cheap green screen effects as of late. We give credit to Shakira though for making up for it in other areas (i.e the choreo).

Here is the full-length video for Chris' new single, "I Can Transform Ya," featuring Lil Wayne and Swizz Beatz. The video was directed by Joseph Kahn (Britney Spears' "Stronger," "Toxic" and "Womanizer;" Brandy and Monica's "The Boy Is Mine;" Sisqo "The Thong Song;" Destiny Child's "Say My Name"). The whole video is reminiscent of Janet Jackson's "Feedback." Graffiti, Brown's 3rd studio album, arrives in stores on December 15th.

The video was directed by Joseph Kahn and premieres in full tomorrow.

He previously had pleaded not guilty to illegal gun possession charges that carried at least 3 1/2 years in prison upon conviction.

His trial had been due to start Jan. 20." (Source: Billboard)

The question that has been lingering in everybody's mind is can Chris Brown make a comeback? A couple of weeks ago the young singer released "I Can Transform Ya," the lead single from his forthcoming album, Graffiti. To make things even more interesting Rihanna and Chris are going head to head musically. Both of them are releasing singles and videos within close range of each other. Weezer and Weezy Team Up For New Single

Posted by Media Mogul On 12:06 PM 0 comments

Lil Wayne will appear on Weezer's upcoming, seventh studio album, Raditude. The song, "Can't Stop Partying," was written by the band's frontman Rivers Cuomo who enlisted the help of Jermaine Dupri. Lil Wayne will provide a verse for the song. According to Cuomo:
"It was a real challenge for me, taking his [Dupri's] ideas, which are very slick, R&B party [ideas], and giving it some kind of edge, some darkness, making it work with rock, making it work with Weezer.

"Not only that, but we got Lil Wayne to come in and do a rap on it," he continued. "Any other rapper would've just done, 'Yay, we're partying! Let's drink and have fun,' but he gave it the edge I was looking for. You can hear in his voice, it sounds so dark, like he was gonna get shot or something when he walks out of the studio. So I was real happy that everyone involved got what we were going for." (Source: MTV)
This isn't Lil Wayne's first foray into rock. He has previously collaborated with Fall Out Boy and his next album, Rebirth, is a fusion of rap and rock, granted it doesn't get pushed back again. Raditude hits stores on November 3rd while Rebirth is slated to hit stores on November 24th.

Check out the music video for Drake's star studded new single. "Forever" is the 2nd single from the "More Than A Game" Soundtrack.

Ok, so we at MDM love Drake but he has yet to do a video that impresses us. We're looking for him to deliver a visual as classic and fresh as the music he makes. We'll cut him some slack since the single was released from a movie soundtrack. We all know videos for movie singles usually equates to a bunch of boring performance shots interspersed with clips from the movie. And were we the only ones nervous with all that pyro? We just kept having flashbacks of Michael Jackson and Pepsi. RIP MJ. Let us know what you think about the vid.

Whitney phoned into the Ed Lover Show on Monday morning for a candid radio interview. She talks about her plans to tour, her favorite food spot in Jersey, and her favorite current artists. Check out the full interview below.

We love that she listens to Lil Wayne. Can't you just see her swinging her wig in a feverish 360 like in the "If I Told You That" music video while rapping "A Milli" with random melodic interspersions of "ooo" and "aaahh." Haha. Get it Nippy!

"The final numbers are in for Lil Wayne's 2008-2009 North American touring, and it looks like the rapper will have the highest grossing hip-hop tour of the year -- and the most lucrative rap jaunt that Billboard has ever tracked.

Seventy-eight Lil Wayne headlining arena and amphitheater concerts in North America from Dec. 14, 2008, through Sept. 6, 2009, grossed approximately $42 million and drew nearly 804,000 fans, according to Lil Wayne tour producer and tour business manager Shawn Gee, who also serves as president of music and entertainment at Sports & Entertainment Financial Group.

The second highest-grossing rap tour that Billboard has tracked was Jay-Z's 2008 jaunt with
Mary J. Blige, which grossed $34.6 million and drew 310,694 concertgoers to 28 shows, according to Billboard Boxscore. Kanye West's 2008 Glow In the Dark tour comes in third, having pulled in $30.8 million from 49 concerts that attracted 507,853 fans." (Source: Billboard)

Congratz Weezy. We definitely respect the hustle.
