Just when things seemed to possibly be turning around for the singer, news that a lawsuit may be pending threaten to derail the singer's attempts to get his career back on track after his assault on ex-girlfriend, Rihanna, back in February. Not only did Wrigley's almost immediately pulled the plug on Chris' endorsement knowing that their customer's wouldn't want to buy gum being promoted by a woman beater, but it doesn't help that Wrigley's was sitting front row and center in the pictures of the blood spattered lambo Chris was driving at the time of the assault.
According to entertainment columnist Janet Charlton:
"Chris had apparently signed up for another five year stint with Wrigley and finished a number of commercials when the Rihanna incident happened. Wrigley pulled his ads and fired Chris. Now they are said to be preparing to sue Chris for all the money they lost due to his bad behavior. They spent big bucks on ads featuring Chris along with other celebrities like JayZ and Mariah Carey. Since Chris was in them also – everything had to be ditched. Wrigley is mad and we hear they hope to recoup the money Chris caused them to lose with a big fat lawsuit."
So what do you guys think? Has Chris suffered enough or does he deserve the continued backlash?
