Remember a few days back we reported that Chris Brown and Mary J. were among the performers slated to participate in a Michael Jackson tribute concert at the end of this month? Remember a few short hours later both artists denied being involved in the event? Jermaine Jackson held a press conference announcing the performers some of who had not received the memo that they would be performing until they saw the press conference. OOPS! Well now the whole concert has been postponed. The show is now slated for June 2010 in London. According to Jermaine Jackson who was organizing the event:
"'Numerous stars were just not able to change their schedules to make a live appearance at the Vienna event possible," Jackson said this morning.
"Now we have eight months to put this monumental show together and not just eight weeks."
Georg Kindel, who was promoting the event, acknowledged to reporters that "maybe we underestimated these issues.'" (Source: EOnline)
Ya think? Clearly they weren't able to change their schedules if the first time they hear about their involvement is 3 weeks before the event via a press conference during one of the busiest times in the entertainment industry (Fashion Week, VMAs, 4th quarter album and movie releases, promotional tours, and concerts). I don't understand why they were rushing the event in the first place.
