You were removed from the BET Awards show when the Michael Jackson tribute was happening. As a supreme MJ fab, that had to hurt.

It was wack. I’ll keep it a hundred. The BET Awards was horrible. I was watching it, holding my face like, “Oh my God, this is wack.” I didn’t get it. Michael Jackson was such a big entertainer. And I’m not dissing any of the artists who did the songs. But I was expecting a lot more of energy for Michael. And BET Awards usually comes hard. I was exepecting them to have Usher, Omarion and even Justin. And I was expecting Ne-Yo to sance. They were so bent on getting me there that they messed up their own show. (Source: Rap Radar)

Where is his PR team? Are they on permanent vacation? Chris Brown should really be taking extra caution to be politically correct these days. Just because something is true doesn't mean it needs to be expressed. Some things are better left unsaid, especially when you need to be building bridges instead of burning them. The new issue of Vibe is on newsstands now.

Michael Jackson Is Finally Debt Free

Posted by Media Mogul On 11:42 AM 0 comments

In the five months following the King of Pop's death, MJ has managed to amass a fortune large enough to not only pull his estate out of the insurmountable debt it was in prior to his passing, but by some estimates to satisfy current lawsuits with plenty left over to take care of his three kids for the rest of their lives. Get the full scoop after the jump.

THE debts that plunged Michael Jackson’s life into turmoil have been cleared, barely five months after his death.

Music royalties and box-office takings for the film This Is It have brought in almost half-a-billion dollars to the King of Pop’s estate.

The phenomenal flow of cash, which does not include income from Jackson souvenirs and memorabilia, more than covers the estimated £250million he owed. Administrators John Branca and John McClain still face at least six lawsuits, originally filed against the singer but now transferred to his estate.

These include a £180million action by New Jersey based company AllGood Entertainment that claims Jackson reneged on a planned pay-per-view TV reunion concert with his brothers in Texas.

Hollywood director John Landis, who made the singer’s 1983 Thriller video, is also suing for an undisclosed sum over alleged non- payment of his share of the profits.

A spokesman for the administrators said yesterday: “Our attorneys are in negotiations with various parties on a number of unresolved issues. We expect these to be amicably resolved by early in the New Year.”

Even hefty out-of-court settlements and legal fees won’t make much of a dent in Jackson’s posthumous fortune and future earning potential, according to financial experts.

Jackson was already No3 on Forbes Magazine’s annual list of highest- grossing dead celebrities, behind fashion icon Yves St Laurent and composers Rodgers & Hammerstein, before This Is It was released last month. By yesterday, the film had raked in almost $240million worldwide, according to online monitor Box Office Mojo, with eventual income from DVD sales expected to double that. Sales of the spin-off double CD, which has made the top 10 in more than 120 countries, as well as re-releases of Jackson’s classic albums, are “conservatively” expected to top £180million by Christmas, according to Sony Music.

Forbes senior editor Matthew Miller believes the Jackson phenomenon will continue to dominate the magazine’s dead celebrity chart for years to come. His posthumous earnings already dwarf those of Elvis Presley, whose estate made only £34 in the current financial year. Mr Miller said: “In life, Michael sank into uncontrollable debt, raising enormous loans to pay for other ones he couldn’t afford. He was, basically, a multi-millionaire living a billionaire lifestyle.”

Now, in an ironic twist, financial experts predict Jackson’s estate could be as much as a billion dollars in profit by the end of next year, with plans to launch as many as six new CDs.

The cash bonanza removes any financial uncertainty there may have been over the future of the singer’s three children, Prince Michael, 12, Paris, 11, and seven-year-old Prince Michael II.

Mr Miller said: “If they chose, none of them would have to work a single day in their lives.” (Source: MichaelJackson.com)

Stars Line Up for New Michael Jackson Album

Posted by Media Mogul On 7:10 AM 0 comments

"The stars are queueing up to sing along with Michael Jackson - from beyond the grave.

Madonna, Britney Spears, Beyonce and Justin Timberlake are eager to sing with him on an album set to top the charts worldwide.

Existing recordings of hits such as Bille Jean and Beat It will be reworked so the stars can sing "duets" with Jacko.

The album, in aid of a new charity being set up in Jacko's name, is being masterminded by music producer Mike Blakey.

He said: 'There are going to be be some big surprises both in the tracks used and who is involved.'" (Source: Mirror)

Father of Jackson Accuser Found Dead

Posted by Media Mogul On 7:09 AM 0 comments

The father of Jordan Chandler, who accused Michael Jackson of molesting him in 1994, was found dead earlier this month. Check out details after the jump.

The father of a boy who accused Michael Jackson of molesting him 15 years ago was found dead of an apparent suicide, Jersey City Police confirmed to PIX News.

According to authorities, the body of Evan Chandler was discovered in his Jersey City residence at about 5:35 p.m. on Nov. 5 after he went missing.

Chandler, who was being treated for an unknown illness, missed an appointment with his doctor which prompted concern, Jersey City spokesperson Stan Eason said.

After several failed attempts to get in touch with his patient, the doctor, who was not immediately identified, called the building’s concierge to check on Chandler.

The concierge later discovered the victim’s lifeless body inside the apartment at the Liberty Towers located on Hudson Street, Eason said.

Police say Chandler suffered a self inflicted gun shot wound to the head. Authorities are treating the case as a suicide.

It was back in 1994, when Chander’s then-12-year-old son Jordy Chandler accused Jackson of molesting him on several occasions between 1991 and 1994. The father and son went after the King of Pop in court and later settled the case for a reported $20 million.

In 2006, Jordan Chandler filed a request for a restraining order against his father after he allegedly struck Jordan over the head from behind with a twelve and a half pound weight.

In the wake of Jackson’s untimely death in June 2009, an internet rumor surfaced that claimed Jordan Chandler confessed to lying to police about being molested by Jackson. Jordan was coached by his father to tell the outlandish story in a scheme to get millions, the report claimed. An investigation later determined no such confession took place. (Source: Fox News)

Although This Is It will grossly miss initial estimates of a $250 million 5-day box office run, the film still tops the box office this week and becomes the highest grossing concert film of all time. Paranormal Activity, on the other hand, has officially bested Blair Witch as the title holder for most profitable film ever made.

Today, Michael Jackson's This Is It makes it worldwide premiere from Los Angeles beginning at 4:30 p.m. PDT. The best part of it all, you can watch the premiere right here @ MishmashD. Get more details and watch a clip of "Smooth Criminal" from the movie after the jump.

"You've been hearing about it for months, since the days just after his death: the rehearsal footage of Michael Jackson as he geared up for his epic comebacks concerts in London. On Tuesday (in select markets) and Wednesday, finally, the recordings will be unleashed as the documentary "Michael Jackson's This Is It." Hours before then, the red-carpet premiere kicks off in Los Angeles and MTV News will be broadcasting live in front of the Nokia Theatre as the action unfolds.

Airing on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. ET, MTV's special will showcase inside stories you've never heard before about MJ and his planned concerts. We sat down for in-depth interviews with dancers, band members, the choreographer Travis Payne and the director Kenny Ortega — all those people who knew Jackson so well during his final days and who were helping him put the entire production together. It's all part of the untold story of how the "This Is It" concert series came to be, how Jackson planned to make them his best shows ever, and what it was like working with the King of Pop on what became his final project.

One segment called "The King of Pop: Royally High Expectations" details how MJ's aspirations to make this the greatest concert ever meant that everybody worked around the clock to ensure his high standards were upheld. Musicians, dancers and Ortega tell stories about Michael being such a perfectionist that he'd notice even a few missing notes in a song.

Another segment shows the "This Is It" crew dishing the secrets they unearthed while working with the legendary pop star -- from the reasons he wore those iconic white socks to the power behind his cologne. And the special also takes a look at MJ's last 24 hours, as those who worked with him talk about Michael's last rehearsal.

Anchoring all the proceedings from the carpet will be Sway and Tim Kash. They'll be greeting stars as they arrive and getting their personal stories about meeting, working with or admiring Michael Jackson. And it all begins on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m." (Source: MTV)

"This Is It," a brand new song, marks yet another exciting moment in music history for one of the world’s most revered artists; featuring backing vocals by Michael’s brothers The Jacksons, the song plays during the closing sequence of Sony Pictures' forthcoming film MICHAEL JACKSON'S THIS IS IT and is on the 2-disc CD set Michael Jackson's This Is It, which is the stand-alone companion to the motion picture. The single artwork - a new photo of Michael taken recently at his Staples Center rehearsals - will also be disclosed.

Later this month, Sony Music Entertainment's Columbia/Epic Label Group will release the two-disc album Michael Jackson's This Is It internationally on October 26th and North America on October 27th to coincide with the worldwide release of the motion picture, which arrives in theaters on October 28th and runs for a limited two-week engagement.

Disc one features the original album masters of some of Michael's biggest hits such as "Billie Jean," "Smooth Criminal," "Human Nature," and "Thriller" arranged in the same sequence as they appear in the film. The disc ends with two versions of "This Is It," the original and an orchestral version. "This Is It" is featured in the film's closing sequence and includes backing vocals by Michael's brothers, the Jacksons.

Disc two offers fans a rare listen to the early demo versions of classics "She's Out Of My Life," "Wanna Be Startin'," "Somethin'," and "Beat It." This disc also features a recently discovered spoken word poem from Michael Jackson entitled "Planet Earth."

Michael Jackson's This Is It also includes a 36-page, commemorative booklet featuring exclusive photos of Michael from his last rehearsal.

Musician and actor Harry Connick Jr. appeared as a guest on the Australian variety show, Hey Hey It's Saturday, on Wednesday night. During the talent segment, referred to as "Red Faces," Connick served as a guest judge. During "Red Faces" six men appeared on stage as the "Jackson Jive," a distasteful satirical parody of Michael Jackson and his brothers. The men donned large afro wigs and blackface with the exception of the lead singer who, imitating the late King of Pop, wore white makeup. When it was time for scoring Connick gave the group a big fat donut. Way to go Connick. Shortly after the show he made the following statement:

“Man, if they turned up looking like that in the United States… it would be ‘hey, hey, there’s no more show.’ ”

“I just want to say on behalf of my country, I know it was done humorously, but we’ve spent so much time trying to not make black people look like buffoons, that when we see something like that we take it really to heart.

And I know it was in good fun and the last thing I want to do is take this show to kind of a down level. Because you know how much I love this show and this country. But I feel like I’m at home here and if I knew that was going to be part of the show I probably, I definitely wouldn’t have done it.

Thank you for the opportunity, I’ve got to give it up because I told him at the break and he said ‘Man, you need to speak as an American, not as a white American or a black American but as an American I need to say that.”

"In fact, the Los Angeles County coroner's report shows Jackson was a fairly healthy 50-year-old before he died of an overdose. His 136 pounds were in the acceptable range for a 5-foot-9 man. His heart was strong with no sign of plaque buildup. And his kidneys and most other major organs were normal.

Still, Jackson had health issues: arthritis in the lower spine and some fingers, and mild plaque buildup in his leg arteries. Most serious was his lungs, which the autopsy report said were chronically inflamed and had reduced capacity that might have left him short of breath.

However, according to the document, the lung condition was not serious enough to be a direct or contributing cause of death.

"His overall health was fine," said Dr. Zeev Kain, chairman of the anesthesiology department at the University of California, Irvine, who reviewed a copy of the autopsy report for the AP. "The results are within normal limits."
Check out more details from the autopsy after the jump.
"Kain was not involved in the autopsy. The full autopsy report has not been released publicly, but the AP obtained a copy.

But aside from his lungs, the autopsy report did not identify any serious physical problems that might have limited Jackson's ability to perform. It also provided details about his physical state from head to toes.

He had a 3/4-inch scar behind his left ear and another apparent scar behind his right ear. He had a scar beside each of his nostrils and another, 4-inch scar on his right shoulder. He had a pair of additional scars about 3-inches long at the base of his neck and smaller scars on his arms and wrist. He also had a small scar near his navel and a 2-inch scar on the right-hand side of his abdomen.

Kain said most of the scars appeared to be from plastic surgery though others, like a scar on the knee, could have been from a medical procedure.

The medical examiner found numerous punctures on both arms and on a knee and ankle. The leg punctures could have been from intravenous therapies not described in the autopsy report, Kain said.

Jackson had several tattoos, all them cosmetic, including dark tattoos in the areas of both eyebrows and under his eyes, and a pink tattoo around his lips.

He was going bald at the front of his head, with his remaining hair described as short and tightly curled. The bald part of his scalp was darkened with what appeared to be a tattoo stretching across the top of his head from ear to ear.

The coroner found depigmentation of his skin around his chest, abdomen, face and arms.

The coroner also found Jackson was actively producing sperm."

That last sentence...TMI. In any event this makes Michael's passing all the more tragic. R.I.P MJ.

Remember a few days back we reported that Chris Brown and Mary J. were among the performers slated to participate in a Michael Jackson tribute concert at the end of this month? Remember a few short hours later both artists denied being involved in the event? Jermaine Jackson held a press conference announcing the performers some of who had not received the memo that they would be performing until they saw the press conference. OOPS! Well now the whole concert has been postponed. The show is now slated for June 2010 in London. According to Jermaine Jackson who was organizing the event:

"'Numerous stars were just not able to change their schedules to make a live appearance at the Vienna event possible," Jackson said this morning.

"Now we have eight months to put this monumental show together and not just eight weeks."

Georg Kindel, who was promoting the event, acknowledged to reporters that "maybe we underestimated these issues.'"
(Source: EOnline)

Ya think? Clearly they weren't able to change their schedules if the first time they hear about their involvement is 3 weeks before the event via a press conference during one of the busiest times in the entertainment industry (Fashion Week, VMAs, 4th quarter album and movie releases, promotional tours, and concerts). I don't understand why they were rushing the event in the first place.

Tune into the VMAs tomorrow at 9pm on MTV for the airing of the full trailer as well as a performance tribute to the King of Pop featuring his baby sis, Janet Jackson.

We have a feeling that this is going to make up for the travesty that was the 2009 BET Awards. We know their intentions were in the right place but it ended up being a complete and utter wreck. The MTV Video Music Awards air live on Sunday at 9pm EST.
