The incomparable Whitney Houston, the comeback queen, officially kicked off her world tour in Moscow at the Olympic Stadium on December 9th. The diva's performance albeit, not perfect, showed glimpses of brilliance from her past. The flaws in the performance, however, are not cringeworthy. They are more or less beautiful reminders of the struggle she has endured as well as indicators of continued vocal improvement as Ms. Houston continues to reclaim her chops. Check out clips from the concert after the jump including a very touching and celebratory tribute to the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson. If you still think Whitney's voice is gone after listening to these clips please do yourself a favor and have someone purchase you a hearing aid for Christmas.

Her set included Russian Roulette,” “Hard,” “Live Your Life,” “Run This Town,” and past hits like “Don’t Stop The Music,” “Take A Bow,” “Disturbia” and “Umbrella.” Check out the performances after the jump.
Seems like these days falling is a right of passage for new school divas, especially those who perform in heels. It's not really a matter of if you fall, but when you fall. All of the former Destiny's Child members (Kelly, Michelle, and Beyonce) have taken highly publicized falls and more recently at the AMAs Jennifer Lopez landed on her bum during her performance of "Louboutins."
Lady GaGa fell on stage while performing ‘Teeth’ during her tour stop in Ottawa, Canada. The fall happens around the :20 mark. Kudos to her for doing what all good performers do, getting up and moving on.
Rihanna stopped by GMA this morning to perform “Wait Your Turn,” “Russian Roulette,” and “Umbrella” in New York City's Time Square. Check out the other two performances after the jump.

On Monday, while performing “Halo” at London’s O2 Arena, Beyonce suddenly got real rock and roll and dived into the crowd. Now no shade to Bee, you all know we love her dearly, but had that been us we would have been terrified of having our lacefront snatched off. We kind of dig the rockstar steez though. Sasha Fierce was clearly in the building. Get 'em Bee.

Chris Brown is returning to the spotlight in his first concert deal since the derailing of his career resulting from his assault on ex-girlfriend Rihanna. Brown has been added to the lineup of performers for Power 105.1's Powerhouse 2009 Concert. The concert will take place on October 27th at the Izod Center in Rutherford, NJ. Other performers include: Keri Hilson, The-Dream, Trey Songz, Mario, Day26 and Ginuwine.
"This is a pretty C-list lineup,” said one promoter who’s not involved in the show at the Izod Center in East Rutherford, NJ. “Keri Hilson is good, Ginuwine has some following, but this is nothing like the lineup that would have surrounded him this time last year. Chris was the Michael Jackson heir apparent, he had huge endorsement deals. This isn’t the sort of show you would have expected from him before he got in trouble. That shade was cast far and wide. It's the truth though and we respect the promoter for his/her candidness. Chris Brown seemingly has a long road to redemption ahead of him. Only time will tell if he gets there. The young star isn't slowing down though. If he doesn't get there it definitely won't be for lack of trying.
Chris isn’t advertiser-safe yet — his image has a long way to go,” said a producer. “But for this show, he’ll draw a crowd, so the producers of the show are willing to pay. Just because he pled guilty doesn’t mean that all his fans have gone away. And he’s got to start getting back onto the scene at some point, it might as well be here."

As Beyonce kicked off the Australian leg of her highly successful "I Am..." tour she took the time out to dedicate a song to a very special fan.
Remember a few days back we reported that Chris Brown and Mary J. were among the performers slated to participate in a Michael Jackson tribute concert at the end of this month? Remember a few short hours later both artists denied being involved in the event? Jermaine Jackson held a press conference announcing the performers some of who had not received the memo that they would be performing until they saw the press conference. OOPS! Well now the whole concert has been postponed. The show is now slated for June 2010 in London. According to Jermaine Jackson who was organizing the event:
"'Numerous stars were just not able to change their schedules to make a live appearance at the Vienna event possible," Jackson said this morning.
"Now we have eight months to put this monumental show together and not just eight weeks."
Georg Kindel, who was promoting the event, acknowledged to reporters that "maybe we underestimated these issues.'" (Source: EOnline)
Ya think? Clearly they weren't able to change their schedules if the first time they hear about their involvement is 3 weeks before the event via a press conference during one of the busiest times in the entertainment industry (Fashion Week, VMAs, 4th quarter album and movie releases, promotional tours, and concerts). I don't understand why they were rushing the event in the first place.
