Jean Paul Gaultier will join the increasing ranks of high-end fashion designers who have teamed up with a large retail giant to churn out a diffusion line for the masses. Following in the footsteps of Anna Sui and Alexander McQueen, Jean Paul Gaultier will be designing an exclusive collection for Target.

The retailer said:

"Jean Paul Gaultier for Target pays tribute to the American woman, celebrating the forces of style both past and present in American pop culture."

Gaultier's line will be the most exclusive of the Target bunch to date, only going on sale in 250 stores nationwide starting on March 7th in comparison to Sui's distribution in about 600 stores. The collection, which will be available through April 11th, will also be available via target.com.

The Day Before will cover the 48 hours leading up to some of fashion's most prestigious shows. Camera's will document the madness and magic that goes into showcasing Proenza Schouler, Fendi by Karl Lagerfeld, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Sonia Rykiel.
