Earlier this week reports surfaced that the troubled starlet had been released from her recording contract with Casablanca Records. However, a rep. for the actress denied the rumors. Get the full scoop after the jump.

"Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan is adamant she hasn't given up on her music career following reports she had been dumped by her record label.

Lohan, who has released two albums, was working on her third record, tentatively titled Spirit in the Dark, last year.

But after releasing promotional single Bossy last May, work on the new record stalled, with the Mean Girls star reportedly finding it difficult to juggle her acting career with her work as a recording artist.

New reports this week suggest Lohan has been dropped by bosses at her Casablanca record label.

But a spokesperson for the actress has called the rumors "not true," telling GossipCop.com Lohan still has a contract with the company."

According to the NYPost the embattled star was reportedly given the boot by her label, Casablanca Records. Check out more details after the jump.

"Lindsay Lohan, who's spent a year and a half record ing her latest album, has been dropped by Casablanca Records, FoxNews.com reports, and she's working for free for the Ungaro fashion house. "Lindsay even paid for her flight and hotel in Paris," a source told the site. Lohan made sure the trip was worth it by scooping up more than $100,000 worth of Ungaro clothes, a source told Page Six. Meanwhile, the actress, who's having trouble getting work, seemed to be trying her hand at reality TV while she was in Paris for the recent fashion shows. "She was being followed by a camera crew wherever she went," a witness claimed. "We saw them filming her at the Vogue party and a bunch of other clubs around Paris." A rep for Lohan declined to comment on the TV project."

"The always unpredictable LiLo relied on Twitter on Tuesday to open a vein and expose her heartache about her on-off gal pal, Samantha Ronson.

"@samantharonson doesn't respond 2me b/c her family will cut her off if she contacts me..," she tweeted. "They control the one I love & im incapable of making any sort of difference."

The 23-year-old actress followed up with a sweet tweet: "I'm in love with her, as she is in love with me ..... but her loved ones-hate her brilliance & resent her happiness."

However, LiLo was tweeting a different tune when she lashed out at Ronson via a cybernote posted in September.

"Can you make an attempt to not ruin ANYTHI zG positive that i have FINALLY deserved," Lohan whined. "just to cry myself to sleep with your cheats, errors, and thank you."

Deejay Ronson didn't respond to the messages."

The lackluster debut of Lindsay Lohan's first collection with Ungaro has received considerable attention over the past few days. However, the young star's appearance also has a lot of tongues wagging and a lot of people concerned. Michael Lohan, Lindsay's dad, revealed to Radaronline.com that the culprit of Lindsay's visible decline may be prescription drugs. He fears that without intervention Lindsay Lohan could end up like Michael Jackson or Heath Ledger. Check out the exclusive interview after the jump.
"I'm going to get her off the prescription drugs that she's on," Lohan told us in a candid interview. "I hate it when people talk about illegal drug abuse... because it's not just drinking and illegal drugs that kill you. Prescription drugs can destroy and kill a person and are sometimes harder to stop. Look at Heath Ledger and Michael Jackson."

Lohan asked us not to reveal what specific medications he believes his daughter is abusing, but says they've taken over her life.

"You know why Lindsay's not acting in feature films right now? Because she can't," he said. "Because the girl with all the talent is hidden and buried deep inside this fungus that's grown because of the prescription drugs. She can't be herself. When you hug her she's like, vacant inside. When she kisses or holds me I get chills, and not in a good way-in a bad way."

"She's a different person. I was out there for a week when she was living at the Sunset Marquis Hotel and I would sit there and cry. It was horrible. This was not the kid I raised," Lohan told RadarOnline.com.

Lohan says he's speaking out now because he's worried about Lindsay's health and fears she's being taken advantage of by those he calls "enablers."

"I don't care what anyone says about Lindsay. The Lindsay Lohan I lived with when I was married was a focused, intelligent, gifted girl that needed no prescription medication, no assistance from a therapist. Whoever the people are that came into her life and convinced her otherwise should be thrown in jail, because they're the same type of people who are responsible for the deaths of Heath Ledger, Michael Jackson and DJ AM," Lohan said. "Everything was fine in our family until Dina and I got divorced. And that's when all the kids' lives started to unravel... including Lindsay's."

Lindsay Lohan's Designer Debut Is Not A Homerun

Posted by Media Mogul On 12:03 AM 0 comments

Last month we announced that Lindsay Lohan had been appointed Artistic Director to Emanuel Ungaro. However, the Hollywood actress' debut runway show at Paris Fashion Week was met with lots of criticism by fashion industry insiders. Check out the entire collection and its lukewarm reception after the jump.

"There was a veritable human maelstrom backstage after the latest runway show of Ungaro in Paris on Sunday, Oct. 4, as camera crews pushed and shoved and begged for an interview with the house’s new celebrity creative director Lindsay Lohan, making her debut as a designer.

Lohan took her bow, fighting back tears, hand in hand with her joint creative director Estrella Archs of Spain, pausing at the head of the catwalk as the crowd of some 250 photographers snapped the movie star, dressed in a skimpy one-shoulder white crepe cocktail dress.

“Fashion debuts are so much more fun than red carpet premieres,” said Lohan in her private backstage area, as she instructed her hair and makeup team to “quickly comb my hair. It looks disgusting.”

Though fashion critics, editors and stylists put celebrities on their magazine covers and pen features about their tastes, the industry has remained highly suspicious of their attempts to reinvent themselves as designers. So, the weight of expectations were against the new duo as the lights dimmed in the Carrousel du Louvre and the first looks in the Spring 2010 collection hit the pink trimmed white catwalk.

First of all the good news: Archs clearly knows how to cut a cocktail dress, and she and Lohan did get the color scheme right – deep purples, hot pinks and silvery whites. Plus, there was an easy-to-understand feeling to a lot of the looks, twisted and ruched cocktail dresses that had a movie star quotient and a French quality. And the choice of Art Deco heeled shoes all looked like potential hits.

“It’s about a woman being in love with herself," said Archs. "It's about being self-confident and feeling good about being beautiful,”

However, this collection never really soared. While it had enough of the house’s signatures, it felt more like a diffusion line than a major signature collection. Going young is one thing, but somewhat lacking in ambition is another. And, where the house was famed for its kaleidoscope of colors and tie-dyed fantasies, this was too retrained with its preference for scratchy, scrawled prints.

Moreover, too many of the styling tricks did not come off. Covering the chest with sequined hearts is one thing, but placing the same thing on a half dozen heads was naff. And on three occasions straps fell off shoulders, or breasts suddenly swung out from tuxedo jackets, which was a little unlucky, but did not look very professional.

However, since the departure of Giambattista Valli, the acclaimed first successor of founder Emanuel Ungaro, the house’s three intervening designers, Vincent Darre, Peter Dundas and Esteban Cortazar, all had less than stellar debuts. So, while not exactly a home run, Lohan and Archs did get the collection to first base, defying the odds."

"Her multi-year contract, the financial terms of which remain unknown, requires her to go to trunk shows and Ungaro events and "be where the activities of the brand are," Ungaro CEO Mounir Moufarrige told WWD. The paper reports:
Asked to describe her role in the creative process, Lohan said she “kind of oversees everything [Archs] does, while working with her. Different generations have different ideas.”
Moufarrige is famous for rash decisions, such as when he fired Karl Lagerfeld from ChloƩ and appointed Stella McCartney in his place. Anyway, he doesn't care that all of this sounds completely ridiculous. In fact, that was kind of the point:
“The fashion industry thrives on controversy anyway,” he said, waving a hand as if to dispel doubts. “Emanuel Ungaro himself was very controversial. He always felt women had to dress to seduce. His first perfume he called Diva. It’s not an act of desperation to get a real diva involved. I like controversy."

He figured he could either bring on a designer name as big as Tom Ford, which would cost him a ton of money, or bring on an unknown designer to do the actual work and a celebrity for the cache. Why wait months or years for a new designer to reinvigorate the label when you can hire a famous party girl that makes the whole world pay attention? Even if all anyone says is "WTF?," at least they're paying attention to Ungaro. Plus, how bad can Lohan be? As Moufarrige notes, her leggings with built-in knee pads do sell well. And she looks great in hats."
(Source: NY Post)

Well he (Moufarrige) sure did cover all his bases because our first reaction was "this sounds completely ridiculous" shortly followed by a "WTF?!" But we will give Lohan a fair chance to prove herself in her new post. It's definitely a more productive position than "famous party girl" as the NY Post put it. It seems that people associate the starlet more with partying, shopping, and Samantha Ronson than her actual talent these days so this is a good way for her to prove the naysayers wrong. In related news it was said that Esteban Cortazar, former head designer of Ungaro who resigned from his post over two months ago, would leave if they brought Lohan onboard.
