The lambs are looking for a scapegoat after the poor performance of Mariah's latest solo CD, Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel. According to them, the album is a flop because of The Dream who helped write and produce the majority of the songs on the album. Well that didn't go over too well with The Dream at all. Check out his twitter response after the jump.

The Dream is among the artists who were noticeably absent from the nominations list. He took to Twitter to vent his frustrations at being snubbed by the Recording Academy for the 2nd time in a row.

Ciara Is Working On Her Next Album

Posted by Media Mogul On 9:39 PM 0 comments

"Christopher “Tricky” Stewart and his songwriting partner The-Dream have been secretly spending the summer in the studio producing the entire follow-up to Ciara’s Fantasy Ride. Stewart broke the news to Rap-Up.com in an exclusive interview. “We’re doing the whole project,” he reveals. “We’re pretty good into it at this point. We’re about 14 songs deep right now.”

“She came out to L.A. to work with us. We’re out here making this record ’cause it feels good and the vibe is good,” says the Grammy-winning producer.

The as-yet-untitled effort will feature danceable tracks that have become Ciara’s signature. “This record obviously is gonna have tempo to it, but I think it’s gonna have even more substance than the last record,” Tricky discloses. “She dances and we always want to bring out what she does that other people don’t.”

Although Fantasy Ride boasted collaborations with a who’s who of the industry including Justin Timberlake, Chris Brown, and Ludacris, the “Love Sex Magic” singer will be riding solo this time. “This album we wanted to take a few steps back and make it more about her, so the only feature is Dream. But the features that we do on this record will be remixes.”

The hitmaker even shared a couple song titles with Rap-Up.com. “I love ‘Speechless.’ I love this record called ‘Gifted.’ Those are two of my favorites. ‘Speechless’ is therecord with her and Dream together.”

While there’s still the possibility of a release by the end of the year, it’s looking like 2010 will mark Super C’s return. “It’s a little up in the air, but there’s a chance that it might come this year. That was the goal, but at the same time, we didn’t want to rush anything. I think it’s looking more like a next year thing.”

Ciara is pulling out all the stops to make this her bestwork yet. “Right now, she’s on her grind, coming back, trying to make a better album than she made last time and get back to that mark where everybody knew that she was in the top tier of the female business."

Well the Dream and Tricky are producing yet another album. We love the producer duo but the market is over saturated with material from them. Considering Ciara's last album vastly underperformed according to expectations, relying solely on one producer for the entire album with the only features being from that producer is risky. Unless The Dream and Tricky come from completely left field this could backfire in a major way. I'm assuming they're hoping they can work some of the same magic for Ciara that they did for Rihanna ("Umbrella") and Beyonce ("Single Ladies"). Of course we'll reserve forming any definitive opinions until we hear some material.

Chris Brown is returning to the spotlight in his first concert deal since the derailing of his career resulting from his assault on ex-girlfriend Rihanna. Brown has been added to the lineup of performers for Power 105.1's Powerhouse 2009 Concert. The concert will take place on October 27th at the Izod Center in Rutherford, NJ. Other performers include: Keri Hilson, The-Dream, Trey Songz, Mario, Day26 and Ginuwine.
"This is a pretty C-list lineup,” said one promoter who’s not involved in the show at the Izod Center in East Rutherford, NJ. “Keri Hilson is good, Ginuwine has some following, but this is nothing like the lineup that would have surrounded him this time last year. Chris was the Michael Jackson heir apparent, he had huge endorsement deals. This isn’t the sort of show you would have expected from him before he got in trouble.

Chris isn’t advertiser-safe yet — his image has a long way to go,” said a producer. “But for this show, he’ll draw a crowd, so the producers of the show are willing to pay. Just because he pled guilty doesn’t mean that all his fans have gone away. And he’s got to start getting back onto the scene at some point, it might as well be here."

That shade was cast far and wide. It's the truth though and we respect the promoter for his/her candidness. Chris Brown seemingly has a long road to redemption ahead of him. Only time will tell if he gets there. The young star isn't slowing down though. If he doesn't get there it definitely won't be for lack of trying.

Congratulations to the couple again. There is also word that there is no pre-nup. Our mouths hit the floor but if they're happy, we're happy. The couple genuinely seems happy together and that's what matters. Again, wishing them all the best.

Christina Milian and The Dream Tie The Knot

Posted by Media Mogul On 12:43 AM 0 comments

"TMZ has learned Christina Milian officially tied the knot with music producer The Dream in Vegas last week ... at a place famous for its "Drive-Thru Tunnel of Vows."

It all went down close to midnight at the legendary Little White Wedding Chapel -- the same place Britney Spears married that Jason Alexander dude back in 2004.

According to Milian's marriage license, the two said "I Do" at exactly 12:00 AM Friday morning.

We're told Milian rented her wedding dress for $200 (including shoes and veil) and The Dream rented his tux for $100 (including shoes, tie and vest)." (Source: TMZ)

$200 for her outfit?! $100 for his tux?! The Little White Wedding Chapel?! Where were her Louboutins? Her custom made Vera Wang dress? His Armani tux? I just can't. I know we're in a recession but really? $300?! Doesn't The Dream make millions of dollars a year? The Little White Wedding Chapel?! Jesus take the wheel, be a fence, and lead me home. Anyways congratulations to them. Usually quickie weddings = quickie marriages = quickie divorces. Here's hoping theirs lasts.
